The PROTAGONIST of my story is Harry Potter because he is the main character and the hero of the story. The GENRE of my book is fantasy because my book is about wizards and magic. The SETTING of my book is the Dursleys house but the main setting is Hogwarts because most of the things in the book that pen there. The book's POINT OF VIEW is 3rd person because the narrator said the that Harry said blahblahblah. My book is FICTION because it is filled up of untrue characters. The FORESHADOWING in the book was when Harry use magic in a muggle/non-magic being place= Harry will get expelled from Hogwarts.
ReplyDeleteFiction and fantasy are both genres - Fantasy is a sub-genre of fiction.
DeleteDursley's house needs an apostrophe - they own the house.
The genre of the book I read, Four Seasons, is realistic fiction. It is fiction because it is something that hasn't happened yet, and it comes from the writer's imagination. The protagonist of this book is Allegra, a talented pianist. The story is told from her point of view. I think the theme of this book is that you can always take time to make decisions, and you should live your own life. The setting of this book is at the Juliard School in New York, at it doesn't tell you the specific time, but the whole book happens throughout a certain year.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know it's her point of view? What's that called?
DeleteWhy do you think that's the theme? Share a bit about the book.
One of the words is GENRE. The genre of the book, Smile is graphic novel and also it is NON-FICTION. It is a graphic novel because it is in a comic-strip format and it is a novel. It is non-fiction because it really happened and it was true. The PROTAGONIST is Raina because she is the main character. Another word is FORESHADOWING. One way that is was foreshadowing was when she had fallen on her face. The SETTING of the story is mostly her house, and the orthidontist. The POINT OF VIEW is second person because it is in Raina's point of view and how she sees things.
ReplyDeleteWhat did falling on her face foreshadow?
DeleteSetting: time? What grade is she in?
POV is first!! Does it use I? Novels are rarely 2nd person.
Are you sure this is non-fiction?
Abigaile Devine Tobias
ReplyDeleteThe protagonist is Raina because she is the main character. The antagonist is Amara because she is always fighting with Raina. The theme is that you fight a lot with your sister but deep down you really love your Sibling. The setting is the car, and her family members house. The point of view is second person because it is in Raina's point of view and how she sees things. The genre is non-fiction also it is in graphic novels.
Setting needs a time - What grade is Raina in? Or What season? Month?
DeleteRaina's POV is first. Novels are rarely 2nd.
How do you know the genre - needs definition. I'm not sure this book is non-fiction.
The genre of my book is historical fiction. The setting if my book is in Pompeii. The point of view of my book is third person. They have a flashback of there home. The protagonists of my book is Jack and Annie. The antagonist is the Pompeii volcano.
ReplyDeleteDefine historical fiction.
DeleteSetting - time?
there vs their
Each word should incorporate the definition! Ex: The point of view is third person because an outside narrator is telling the story and uses words like "he" and "they."
The name of my book that I will be talking about is Theodore Boone the Abduction. In this book the PROTAGONIST is Theo. The SETTING is in Strattenburg in modern day time. The POINT OF VIEW the story is in is 3rd person. The ANTAGONIST in this book is Jack Leeper. This book is FICTION. The GENRE of this book is realistic fiction because it could happen in real life.
ReplyDeleteThis very basic with no "because" parts to your sentences. For example you should say, "The point of view is third person because someone outside of the story is the narrator and he uses words like "he" and Theo, not "I."
DeleteThis week I read Middle School Get Me Out of Here!. The protagonist is Rafe because he is the one telling the story. So far this book doesn't have a antagonist because no one is going against Rafe. The setting is New York City because it says this numorous times. The theme is that moving isn't as bad as it seems. The genre is realistic fiction because this could really happen. The point of view is Rafe's
ReplyDeleteHow do you know that's the theme? Tell a bit about the book.
DeleteThe point of view is Rafe's should then say it's first person POV because Rafe uses the word "I" and he is a character in the story who tells it.
Setting needs a when.
I have just read Brian's Winter by Gary Paulson. The genre of this book is realistic fiction because it could happen but hasn't yet. The protagonist of this story is Brian because he is the main character. The antagonist of this story is nature because nature makes it harder for Brian to survive. When the air grows colder it foreshadows that winter is coming. The setting is the woods in Canada in winter. This story is fiction because it is made up and is not true.
ReplyDeleteShould have a "for example" or two.
DeleteThe PROTAGONIST in a corner of the universe, is Hattie because she's the main character and she tries to make her nona change her mind about the way she feels about Adam.
ReplyDeleteThe ANTAGONIST is Hattie's nona. she's the antagonist because she says rude things about Adam and how he is a disgrace.
The GENRE in the book is realistic fiction because its not real but it's possible for it to happening in real life too.
THE POINT OF VIEW this is in is 3rd person because does sometimes say he or she. And it's in Hattie's point of view
I think the THEME for this book is to not be rude and bully someone just because of how they look, are etc.
A FLASHBACK Hattie has is when she remembers when she went to the carnival with her family a couple years ago.
Capitalize all first words of sentence.
DeleteHattie's POV does not = 3rd person. If she is the narrator and says "I," then it's first person.
Why do you think that's the theme?
The book I am reading is called Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer. The GENRE or categories we use to divide literature of my book is fantasy because it is about magical things. My book also is FICTION or untrue because the things in it would most likely never happen. The SETTING or where the story took place is in areas like Boston, the world of dwarves, and even a magical hotel for dead heroes. The PROTAGONIST or hero in my book is Magnus and his friends Blitz, Hearth, and Sam. The ANTAGONIST or person working against Magnus is the Fenris Wolf. The THEME or the message in the book is good vs evil.
ReplyDeleteSetting also should include time.
DeleteHow/why do you know that's the theme? Give a little information.
The protagonist in my book is Beatrice. The book that I am reading is Divergent, and it is fiction. In the book Beatrice's mom has a flashback about how people didn't want to eat frozen food. My books point of veiw is in 1 person. My books genre is science fiction. The setting of my book is in the fraction Abnegation.
ReplyDeleteWhen you say the book's point of view you need an apostrophe.
DeleteEach sentence is supposed to include a definition of the word. For example: Tris is the protagonist because she is the main character or hero of the story.
I am reading The Terrible Two. The GENRE of my book is realistic fiction because the book is not real but it could happen. The POINY OF VIEW of my book is 3rd person because it says Niles pranked Miles or Miles was really mad. The PROTAGONIST in my book and is Miles. The ANTAGONIST in my book is Niles. The THEME in my book is to never give up at trying to be what you want to be. A FLASHBACK in my book is when Miles remembers the awesome pranks he did back in his old school.
ReplyDeleteDefine protagonist and antagonist. How do you know that's the theme? Give some more detail.
DeleteThe book I am reading is called The Day My Mother left, the genre of my book is realistic fiction. It is realistic fiction because in the present many parents fight and get divorced. In this story The point of view is 3rd person.I know it is third person because it mentions the word I a lot. This book is fiction to be more clear it is historical fiction. It is historical fiction because the setting is real, but the characters are not real and it is based on the past.In this book there is a lot of flashbacks. For example there is a part in the book where the main character Jeremy is playing at a baseball game, and he could of made a home run, but he remembers that his parents got divorced, so he made a foul run.The theme in this story is that there are many conflicts in this world but we can survive. The protagonist in this book is Jeremy. The protagonist is Jeremy because he is perfect and really good at baseball, but there is a kid named Evan who is the antagonist because he wants to be like Evan so he is really rude and mean to Jeremy.
ReplyDeleteFirst sentence is a run-on.
Delete3rd person is not "I."
Historical fiction - the setting is "real." That doesn't make it historical fiction. What is the setting?
"Could of" is not a phrase. It's could HAVE.
The book I'm reading is Mockingbird. The PROTAGONIST in the book is Caitlin because she's the main character. The GENRE of my book is Realistic Fiction because it could happen it just hasn't yet. The THEME so far is never lose hope. A FLASHBACK that Caitlin had was her and her brother watching, "Bambi" after their mother died of cancer. The SETTING is a small town in Virginia in a modern time. The POINT OF VIEW is in first person because, it tells what Caitlin sees in her mind and it uses words like I, and we
ReplyDeleteThe theme so far is never lose hope because...
DeleteWhy does Caitlin have the flashback?
The book I was reading is The Child Called "It" by Dave Pelzer. The GENRE or categories we use to divide literature of my book is autobiography because it is about a man writing a series of his life about his child hood being abused by his mother. My book is also NON-FICTION because this is true facts he used from his life. The SETTING or where the story took place is in the 1970s of California. The PROTAGONIST or hero in my book is himself and his own school. The ANTAGONIST or person working against Dave is his mother. The THEME or the message of the story is about a child who has the courage and determination to survive.
ReplyDeleteA school is not a protagonist.
DeleteThe GENRE of Al Capone Does My Homework is historical fiction. One of the characters is based on a real character. That character is Al Capone. Also this book is FICTION because the rest of the characters are untrue and the events did not happened in real life. The SETTING of the book is Alcatraz and the year is 1936. The PROTAGONIST of this book is Moose, or the wardens son. The ANTAGONIST of the book is who ever destroyed the Flanagan's house. The POINT OF VIEW of the book is 3rd person because the book uses she and he.
ReplyDeleteGive a bit more information about why Moose is the main character. Whoever destroyed the Flanagan's house is the one working against Moose? Or is Moose trying to solve that mystery? Unclear.
DeleteThe book I'm reading is called Shelter. The book is told from the POINT OF VEIW of The PROTAGONIST Mickey, who is the main character. Shelter is FICTION because it is not based on real events. The SETTING is in a small town. In Shelter,he uses IMAGERY to describe the sight of his neighbor's house. In one scene,Mickey has a FLASHBACK to the time his dad died, when the bat lady tells him that his dad is still alive.
ReplyDeleteSo is the POV first person? Does Mickey say "I"?
DeleteSetting is missing the when.
Describe the imagery.
Explain the reason for the flashback.
The book I am reading is called Wonder by R.J Palacio. The GENRE of this book is non-fiction because someone people do have disorders, but the book I believe is not based on a true story. The ANTAGONIST in my book is Julian. Julian is the antagonist because he has a negative attitude & he is rude to August (the main character.) The PROTAGONIST in my book is August because he is the main character and is trying to ignore Julian and his negative thoughts. The SETTING(s) in this book are August's new school & August's home. Wonder is told in 1ST PERSON because it uses "I" a lot. Every set of chapters has a different POINT OF VIEW, for example for the first set of chapters, it's based off August's point of view. The THEME of this book would be to not judge others based off looks, but to judge them by personality.
ReplyDeleteIf it's not a true story then it's not non-fiction. While some people have disorders, Auggie does not really exist. The book is realistic fiction.
DeleteSetting is missing the when. What grade is Auggie in?
The point of view in the book The Miserable Mill is 3rd person. It's 3rd person because the author uses he,she, they in the story. The book is fiction because the characters are fake. The setting is in Paltryville. The protagonist are Violet,Klaus, and Sunny because there the main characters. The antagonist is Count Olaf because he is trying to take away the protagonist fortune. The genre is fiction as I said before because the story is not true.
ReplyDeleteSetting needs a when.
Deletethere vs their vs they're
protagonists' fortune - possessive
You only used 5 words not 6. Why did you repeat fiction?
The genre of the book Blubber is realistic fiction. The point of view this book is told in 1st person because the story is used in I, we, us, etc. The setting of the book is at school after Halloween. The protagonist of this story would probably be Linda. The antagonists are the bullies (Jill Brenner, Tracy Wu, and Wendy) which are the people fighting against Linda. Lastly, the theme of this book could be don't bully.
ReplyDeleteEach sentence should include a definition of the term.
DeleteMy book is titled Ribsy. The GENRE of my book is realistic fiction because it didn't happen but could happen. The PROTAGONIST of my book is Ribsy because he is the main character. The ANTAGONIST is nature because Ribsy is fighting against nature to get back home. The CONFLICT of my story, which is the problem, is that Ribsy accidentally was left behind at the store has to find his way through nature to get home. The POINT OF VIEW of my story is 3rd person because someone outside the story is telling what Ribsy is doing and how Henry (Henry is the owner of Ribsy because he is a dog) is sad that Ribsy is gone. The SETTING of my story is in an ordinary city. The book didn't say the city name, I checked, but it did say ordinary city.
ReplyDeleteNice. Check the conflict sentence - some words missing.
DeleteUsing the Lit. Terms 1list (10 words), choose 6 of the words and apply them to your choice book. Be sure to somehow include the definition of your word in a sentence.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is Revolution written by the same author that wrote Countdown Debrah Wiles. The GENRE or the categories we use to divide literature is historical fiction. The reason why my book is historical fiction is because the book is about historical events that really happened mixed with some fiction. The SETTING or the where and when a story takes place is in Saturday, June 20, 1964 and in Greenwood, Mississippi. The POINT OF VIEW or the refers to the person telling the story is in 1st person. The reason why the novel is in 1st person because the book uses the key words of I, we and us. The PROTAGONIST or the main character or the hero in the story is Sunny. The reason why is because she is the one who is the one talking in 1st person. The THEME or the statement about life the author wants to convey the reader, the message is that everyone has the right to have freedom it doesn't matter your skin color or anything else. The FORESHADOWING or the hints and clues an author gives about future events in the story. The reason why is because when all the dark skin people group up with banners and etc. it's when Martin Luther King Jr. is marching to the Lincoln Memorial with all of the dark skin people.
What historical events?
DeleteI'm not sure what you mean about foreshadowing. What happened that foreshadowed what?
The book I am reading is Southpaw By Rich Wallace. The GENRE in this book is realistic fiction because it hasn't happened yet, but could. The SETTING in this book in New York City during fall. The PROTAGONIST in this book is Jimmy Fleming. The ANTAGONIST is the kids in the begging of the book who were on the middle school baseball team last year. The THEME in this book I think is never give up. The POINT OF VIEW is 1st person because Jimmy is the narrator.
ReplyDeleteExplain WHY protagonist and antagonist - use "because..."
Deletebegging is not beginning
Why do you think that's the theme?
So does Jimmy use the word "I?"
In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the setting is a small house in the golden age of candy. There is more than one antagonist,or person working against the protagonist. The genre is fantasy because there are many made up, impossible to make candies. The theme is that even if you have very little dreams come true. The point of view is third person. This book is really good so far and Charlie is a nine year old inspiration.
ReplyDeleteAntagonist - such as?
DeleteHow do you know it's third person? Should include a definition of all terms.
You only use 5 terms, not 6.
The book that I am reading is Mission Unstoppable. The PROTAGONISTS are Coke and Pepsi ( they have weird names). The POINT OF VIEW of the book Mission Unstoppable is in third person because the book says "He" and "She". The Genre of the book is FICTION because the book has untrue characters. Specifically Mission Unstoppable is Historical Fiction because the SETTING is California and the take a road trip back in 2010. The THEME is watch out for strangers because strangers burn their school just to kill Coke and Pepsi. The ANTAGONISTS are the people who tried to kill Coke and Pepsi but I don't know who they are yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Theo
Do they mention real events from 2010? Or meet real people that existed in 2010? If not, it's not historical fiction. Just because it happens in the past does not make it historical fiction.
DeleteThe book I am reading is called On The Day I Died. The SETTING of my book is in the cemetery. The PROTAGONIST or the hero in this book is Mike Kowalski. The GENRE of the book if fiction. The CATEGORY of FICTION in this book is fantasy because things in this book could not really happen to someone. The POINT OF VIEW of this book is first person. And I think the THEME of the book would be curiosity is not a good thing.
ReplyDeleteSetting includes a when.
DeleteWhat "things" happen that make it fantasy? Witches and wizards?
How do you know it's first person? Who is the narrator?
Why do you think that's the theme?
Need more info.
The name of the book is Sure Fire. The GENRE of my book is Realistic Fiction because it's fake with real events that can happen. The POINT OF VIEW is 3rd person because it has words like he and she. The SETTING is in Manchester in modern time. The ANTAGONIST is the secret service trying to capture Chance. The PROTAGONIST is the two twins. The FLASHBACK is when they looked back to when their mother was killed by speeding car.

DeleteThe book that I am reading is The Riverman. The GENRE of my book is realistic fiction because it could happen in real life but it hadn't happened yet. The POINT OF VIEW is 1st person because he always says I that means he is actually living it and telling the story. My book is also FICTION because the characters in my book are not real. The PROTAGONIST is Alistair because he is the main character or hero of the story. The SETTING of my story is at his house where he and his friend Fiona are talking because Fiona send him a tape recorder and said happy birthday, but is was not his birthday yet. She thought she was going to die so she gave him a present earlier. The FLASHBACK is when is the at the beginning talks about a boy that was named Luke that died in his town long ago.
ReplyDeleteFiction and Realistic Fiction are both the genre.
DeleteSetting needs a when.
Why is the flashback important to the story?
One of the words is PROTAGONIST. The protagonist of The Sword of Summer is Magnus Chase, because he is the main character. Another word is ANTAGONIST. The antagonist of my book is probably Loki, who is the one against the protagonist. A third word is GENRE. The genre of my book is adventure fiction because it has a lot of adventure in it and it is not true, and that is how we classify it. Another word is POINT OF VIEW. The point of view of my book is 1st person because it has a lot of instances of the word "I" used. Yet another word is SETTING. The setting is modern day Boston because a lot of the book takes place in Boston. A sixth word is FORESHADOWING. An example of foreshadowing in my book is when a fly kept buzzing purposefully around a dwarf who was opposing Blitzen, a dwarf who was sided with the protagonist, because it showed that that fly could be the protagonist's other friend, Sam, who could shape shift.

DeleteA Child Called "It"
ReplyDeleteThe protagonist is David Pelzer because he is the main character in the story/book.
The genre in this book is Non-fiction because the protagonist (main character) David is the author.
The antagonist in this book is David's mother because she beats him up.
This books point of view is first person because he says me, I.
This book is non-fiction because the author is telling us the readers when he was a kid. I know this because the author and main characters name is Dave Pelzer, also in the Epilogue says the story is about him when he was small.
The theme the author wants to convey or share with us is about child abuse because his mother abused him and at the end he talks about child abuse.
What does Dave learn that he wants to share w/ us? The theme isn't just child abuse.
DeleteThe GENRE of my book is FICTION.Genre is the categories we use to divide literature and fiction is a story with untrue character; comes from imagination. The SETTING is mostly the wilderness and the modern age of 2014-2015.Setting is the time and place of were the story takes place. The POINT OF VIEW is first person and the persons view is Brian.Point of view refers to the person telling the story. And the PROTAGONIST is Brian with the ANTAGONIST is the wilderness .A protagonist is the main character or the hero of the story and the antagonist is the thing or person working against the protagonist.Brian has many FLASHBACKS from his other books like Brian's Winter. Flashbacks reference to a previous time.
ReplyDeleteI rate the 4.5 stars because I am really loving the vibes you get from how the story is playing like flashbacks left to right like the plane starts and when he flies over the woods.

ReplyDeleteThe genre of the book How to Train Your Dragon is fantasy. The protagonist is Hiccup.
ReplyDeleteMy book is Never Have I Ever by Sara Shepard. The genre is Mystery. This is because there's been a murder of a girl named Sutton, and someone has to figure out why it happened, and who did it. Someone pretends to be her online, and finds her long lost identical twin sister. They convince her to come visit, and she does. When she gets there, she finds out that she has to pretend to be her sister Sutton and slip into her life. The protagonist is a girl named Emma, who now has to go by Sutton. The antagonists are two girls, the Twitter twins. Their names are Gabby and Lili. Emma and Sutton both think that they killed Sutton. Emma even thinks they're stalking her. The point of view is always first person, since it use dos I. Although it switches from Emma to Sutton. There are lots of flashbacks. Since Sutton is dead, she only remembers bits and pieces from her life; when Emma finds out or uncovers a secret, she gets a flashback to when it happened. As of right now, the theme is unclear.
ReplyDeleteThe book Dairy of a Wimpy Kid is a non-fiction. Because it has characters that are real and not fake. So in the book the protagonist is Greg the antagonist is Roderick. Roderick all way try's to hurt Greg and get him in trouble. When Roderick is in his band Greg no longer get hurt by him. Greg has some times where he is safe From Roderick like school for example. I also think hufley Is a protagonist because he like,s to hang out with Greg. I rate it 5/5

ReplyDelete2) The PROTAGONIST of my book is Mia (Amelia) because Mia is the main character of the WHOLE book. 3) The POINT OF VIEW of my book is 1st person because it refers to the person telling the story. Which in this book it's 1st person because it starts with "I", "WE", "US".
4) My book used FORESHADWING. Foreshadowing is when it gives you hints or clues an author gives about future events in the story.
For example, Mia's father keeps calling her constantly. In the rest of the book she figures out that her father has cancer problems. That's the reason why her father keeps calling her.
5) The ANATGONIST in my book is Mia's best friends, Lilly. An antagonist is the person or thing working against the protagonist. 6) The THEME of my story is ALWAYS BE YOURSELF.
