ReplyDeleteYou need to check your spelling and sentences. This doesn't give much of a summary; it's too general. Also, you didn't answer the whole question.
DeleteThe book that I am currently reading is the book "Smile". So far in the book the characters are: Raina, her sister Amara, her mom and dad, the dentist Dr.Dragoni, the orthodontist Dr.Golden, and her scout friends.so far I had read that Raina (main character) goes to the dentist to check if she needs braces. It turns out that she does. After the dentist she has to go to her scout meeting. After her scout meeting her friends mom is going to drop her off at her house and when she does Raina runs to her house and trips and falls. She knocked out her two front teeth. One of her teeth falls out and the other one is pushed up into her gums. She is rushed to the orthodontist. When she gets back home and goes to sleep not knowing what she is doing because of the medication she was giving. A few weeks later she gets her braces that she was supposed to get in the first place. On the same week she got her braces she got her ears pierced witch she was very excited about. Getting her ears pierced help her ignore the braces. That is what I have read so far. So far I rate this book a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend this book to my classmates.
ReplyDeleteGood job.

ReplyDeleteUse more care with your spelling and grammar.
DeleteI've been reading The Land of Stories since the beginning of the year. This book is about two kids that got pushed into a book and are trying to get out. But there is no way out only if they get the items that will help them go back. Like Cinderella's glass slipper. They go everywhere looking for the items they need and they meet interesting people that you might hear about in fairy tales. I would give this book a 5 out of 5 and I would totally recommend this book to my classmates.
ReplyDeleteGood start. Check your grammar - fragments.
DeleteThe book that I am reading is called Circus Mirandus. The book is about a boy named Micah. When his grandfather found the Circus Mirandus he met someone named the Lightbender. The Lightbender had promised Micah's grandfather a miracle. Now his grandfather needs it really badly because he is badly sick. Now Micah wants to find the Lightbender so he can save his grandfather. I would rate my book 5 stars. I would also recommend it because it is fantasy and it is very mysterious.

Excellent post.
DeleteI've read the book 'The School of Fear'. The first book is about 4 kids with different fears attending something like a summer camp. The teacher is extremely storage and she likes the flavor of maggot cheese. And the teacher tries to help them. Overcome their fears over the summer, but none of the students think she will succeed. I give this book a 4.5, and I recommend it.
ReplyDeleteYewon Kang
You need to be more careful w/ grammar. Also, make the sentences connect. Why does it matter that she likes the smell of maggot cheese? Include relevant details that will interest a reader and are important to the overall story.

ReplyDeleteNice summary, but you didn't answer the whole question.

ReplyDeleteThomas and his friends escape a facility full of people like him and venture through the deserted desert like world with sand everywhere. Then when they find what they were looking for, The Red Army, a resistance group against WICKED, or at least they thought they did. When they found another group of people that want to sell them to WICKED. But when WICKED come, they are forced to try and escape through every the city, full of flesh-eating cranks- zombie-like bloodthirsty crazy infected people-When they get there they find a lot of people they knew there.(Can't give out ending)

DeleteThe name of the book that I am reading is called Twilight by Stephenie Meyers. It is about a girl named Bella Swan who moves in with her dad and meets a boy named Edward Cullen. DeleteThe book I read was Skink No Surrender by Carl Hiaasen. The book is about a boy named Richard, who thinks something about her cousins dissaperance is fishy and a crazy former mayor who goes by Skink and their adventure to find Richards cousin Malley. Some crazy things happen, things that include glass eyes, canoes, and alligators. I enjoyed reading as Richard and Skink set off into the sunshine state of Florida, without the slightest lead as to where Malley might be. I would rate this book a eight, only because it seemed a little strange that Richard didn't get in bigger trouble for running off with a stranger at the age of fourteen, kind of like his cousin who ended up kidnapped. I would reccomend it because it was funny, and very interesting. I never would've guessed some of the things that happened.
ReplyDeleteExcellent post, Grace.

ReplyDeleteThe title of my book is I even funnier. It is about a boy named Jamie Grimm who is in a wheelchair but he is the funniest kid on the earth. He is gearing up to defend his title at the Planet's funniest kid comic in Boston MA. I would rate this book a four because it was really funny but some of the characters were annoying and I would recommend this to a friend.
ReplyDeleteCapitalize the whole title of your book. Give me one more sentence so I get a bit of a better sense of the book.
DeleteI'm reading Wonder written by R.J Palacio. First, there's a boy named August. Next, he got many surgerys on his face and he says he looks horrible. I would recommend this book because Augusts life is kind of strange and interesting he finds two friends that are nice to him and that don't make faces when they see him.
ReplyDeleteLook for run-ons. It also doesn't make sense in the order it's written. The part about finding friends should go after his surgeries.
DeleteI could know this much information from reading the back of the book.
The book that I am reading is Rules by Cynthia Lord. The book is about a girl named Catherine who is trying to live a normal life, but can't because she has a brother named David and he has some disabilities. So when ever she wants to do something that a normal family would do she always gets embarrassed some how. So far I would rate this book a 5 out of 10
ReplyDeleteGive an example to be a bit more specific.
DeleteAlso, whenever and somehow are both compound words.
Are you going to finish it?
I read the book Scat by Carl Jiassen. In the book there is a substitute that nobody like because she was really mean. She made one of the students write a book about his pimples. Their real teacher hasn't come yet so the substitute has to go to the field trip with the students.I would recommend this book to my classmates.

DeleteThe name of the book that I am reading is called Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It is about a girl named Bella Swan. She has just moved in with her dad in Forks, Washington. She meets a boy at school named Edward Cullen, and she notices strange things about him. He talks like he is from a different time, his eyes change color, he's ice cold, and he's never at school when the weather is nice and sunny. Bella starts to think that he is a vampire. Could she be right? I would rate this book five out of five stars. I would also recommend this book to some of my classmates. But only if you like funny, romantic books that are mostly about vampires and werewolves.

DeleteMy book is called The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot.I just started this book and I haven't finished reading it yet. This book is about a girl named Mia. As for Phony and Smily they were serving drinks to people to get money
ReplyDeleteThis has almost no punctuation. You need to check for run-ons! Slow down. Also, there are missing words or wrong words that don't make sentences. It makes the writing hard to follow.
DeleteThe name of my book is CHERUB mission two the dealer. I really didn't read to far into the book because we really don't get to read but my books about James he's under the age of seventeen and he has to bring down the worlds most powerful drug lord ever and the best part is he doesn't have any weapens it's extremely dangerous. That's what is happening in my book.
ReplyDeleteYou are supposed to read on your own for 20 minutes each night.

A book that I read was Middle School- My Rotten Luck.
ReplyDeleteThis book is about Rafe Katchadorian, (who's a former troublemaker) Returns to Hills Village Middle School. To stay in his grade, Rafe has to go to Special Education (which is apparently humiliating) which is in a room in the library with a big window where bullies watch all of the kids who are in the class. Rafe makes a new friend who asks him to join football. I would recommend this book because the humor and the plot twists that happen. On a scale from 1-10 I would give this book a 8.5
Nice post.
DeleteThe book I'm reading is called Wonder R.J Palacio. This book is about a kid named August & he has a problem—with his face. August isn't an ordinary kid & he's never been to a public school before. But soon, he actually goes to a school. He thinks it will probably be difficult for him to make friends, but actually he does make some—he also meets a boy named Julian, and he starts to make fun of August. Will they become friends? Will August stop going to school? Find out by reading the book. I give this book 5 stars so far because it's really interesting & I'm really enjoying it! I recommend this book because I think people will enjoy it as much as I do because it's a really really well-written book.

DeleteThe book im reading is called Sure Fire. Its about two twins whos mother died and they have to live with their long lost dad. They get really mad at their dad because he left them when they were born. They start to give a break from their hatred when suddenly they find out something big and have now idea who to trust anymore. I rate this book 4/5 because they instantly start hating their dad for leaving them but the book never really gave an explanation for why they should hate him as much as they do. I would recommend this to my classmates because its full of suspense and action and gives me a real fun time when reading it.
ReplyDeleteI'm - capitalize and use an apostrophe.

The book I was reading was called The return of the Home Run Kid by Matt Christopher. This book is about a kid named Sylvester who is on a baseball team called the Hooper Redbirds. He is a really bad baseball player that used to hit only homeruns every time he stepped up to the plate the last season because Mr. Brauth, a coach of his team in the prequel The Kid Who Only Hit Homers helped him do that. Well anyways the book is about Slyvester being on the team and getting benched every game, but then he meets a guy named Cheeko. cheeko practices and helps Sylvester start hitting again and eventually he ends up hitting homeruns and gets a starting position in center field. In conclusion I would recommend this book to anyone who loves sports. Also I would recommend reading the first book or the prequel before reading the second one. All in all I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars. Connor Smith
ReplyDeleteWhat happened that made him not be able to hit? Make sure you capitalize Cheeko.

ReplyDeleteI rate this book so far 4 stars becuse of the plot and how it was played. by Will Clark
Capitalize and underline Hatchet.
Deleterun on - Line 2: after Hatchet you need a period. Then: His parents are still divorced, but he has gotten over it.
run-on: line 4: after him you can't use a comma unless you also use a FANBOYS (conjunction). Or use a semi-colon or period.
Re-read what you type - quastion? robeson? candain? - spell check on Pages!!!
The rating of 4 stars needs a better reason than the plot - what about the plot specifically? It had lots of action? It was entertaining because...??
The book I am reading is Blubber by Judy Blume. This story is about a girl named Linda and she is getting horribly bullied. She was doing a project on whales and talked about there blubber. Now Wendy, Jill Brenner, Tracy Wu, and other kids are bullying her terribly. Every day when Linda gets off the bus, those girls start calling her blubber. One day the bullying got bad. The girls dragged Linda in the bathroom to take off all of her clothes to embarrass her. She is left in just her underwear and she is crying constantly. Then Linda didn't come out of her house for Halloween. Jill Brenner, Tracy wu, Wendy, and other girls are bad girls so they go out Halloween night and vandalize houses. I rate this book with a strong 5 stars. This book is very interesting and I think it is teaching kids to never bully someone. I definitely recommend this book to my classmates to read.

I recently read the book, "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, Book 1: The Sword of Summer" by Rick Riordan. The story takes place in winter in Boston, MA. The main character, Magnus Chase, is a 15 year old living on the streets, living a relatively safe life, considering his position. That is, until his 16th birthday, where he hears that his uncle Randolph and his cousin Annabeth are looking for him, and decides to pay his uncle's house a visit. There, he sees a whole collection of metal statues, assorted runes and weapons and more. Soon, he notices his friend Hearth, and Hearth tries to tell him to get out, discreetly, but then, he meets his uncle Randolph, who tells him that now that he's sixteen, "they" are out to get them. Who are "they"? What will happen to Magnus? I give this book 4.5 stars. It is a good book, and I would recommend this to classmates.

DeleteThe book i am reading is The Terrible Two, by Jory John and Mac Barnett. This book is about a kid named Miles and he is now going to a new school. On his first day of school he had to go through a car to get in school. Somehow the principles car got on to the stairs. The principle thought that Miles put his car on the stairs but he didn't. Then a kid named Niles (The School Helper) wanted to be his friend , but Miles didn't want to. At Miles old school he used to be the school prankster. So he wanted to be it at his new school, so he made a prank. The prank was he was going to make up a kid named Cody Burr-Tyler and say that he is super cool. He invited everyone to the party, and he was going to tell them to bring the best gifts ever. When he got to the party everyone was there even Niles, everyone brought awesome gifts. But things went wrong, Niles (The School Helper) pranked Miles in his own prank! He paid a guy $20 to dress up as Cody Burr-Tyler and go to the party. The guy said a little speech took the gifts and left. Miles was really confused that someone he made up is real. Miles didn't know that Niles paid some guy to do that. After the party there were no gifts except 1, it was Niles he opened it and it was a rubber chicken that said," You have been pranked." I would rate this book 4 out of 5 because it is funny book, that has a really funny trick that Niles does in the book.

One of the books I have read so far this year is called I Survived 9/11. This book was about planes that hit the twin towers in New York City that caused it to collapse. In the story the main character is boy who just moved to New York and saw the planes hit the twin towers. After he sees the first plane hit he started to run and saw the second plane hit tower 2.Next the police came to save the affected people from the attack.I would give this book 5 stars because they explained the the historical event and I love reading about things that have happened

DeleteThe book I'm reading is called Nest by Esther Ehrlich. This book is about a girl named Naomi known as "Chirp" who struggles with her mom having symptoms of a serious disease. Chirp lives with her sister, father, and mother in Cape Cod. This book takes place in the 1970s and their family is Jewish. Most people at this time did not except this religion because they believed in Christianity. This was hard for their family because people looked at than differently. When Chirp's mom does not feel well they bring her to a mental hospital in Boston. She has spent almost a year there and when they come visit her she barely recognizes her. I rate this book a 5 to of five. Also I recommend this book because this shows the bond between a mother and daughter.
ReplyDeleteThe sentence "she barely recognizes her" is confusing when you are talking about 2 different female characters.
DeleteNice recommendation.
A book I am reading, How to Train Your Dragon is about a viking boy named hiccup who is the son of the chief. he had to catch a dragon but he only caught A basic brown. At least it's still a dragon. So then he did not know what to do. That's all I read so far. 3 out of 5 stars. Recommended by me.
ReplyDeleteNames need to be capitalized!
DeleteCapitalize first words in sentences.
Why did you randomly capitalize the word "A" before basic brown?
Why does he have to catch a dragon?
Write in complete sentences - I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars because...
You need to spend more time on these.
The book I am readin is Countdown written by Debrah Wiles.I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 so far. The reason why I would rate this is because so far it is really a interesting, for instance the book is about Social Studies. The subject is very interesting and important. At the beginning of the book it started off with John F. Kenndy having a conversation with the Soviet Union. They were both threatening about bombing each other. Then, Franny Chapman wants some peace right now in 1962 or the year of the " theat " of Russia trying to bomb the United States. That was a life threatening moment for us. When she is in school they used to have a drill about protection of the Russians bombing the school. But the thing that I didn't understand is that why would they do that. That is a waist of time because a chair or a desk would not provide any protection for them.
ReplyDeleteReadin is not a word.
Delete"it is really an interesting." - this is a fragment. Also, the next words "for instance" should start a new sentence.
Waist is a homophone - you should use the other one: waste.
The name of the book I am reading is called Models Don't Eat Chocolate Cookies by Erin Dionne. The main character's name is Celest Harris. She never really cared much about her weight and was comfortable just the way she was. Until one day when her Aunt Doreen seceretly entered her to a pageant. This pageant was called the Miss HuskyPeach pageant for plus sized girls. Everyone is pressuring her to do this stupid thing that she doesn't even want to do! The problem was she felt to guilty to quit. Also to make matters worse, her super popular, super mean rival Lively Carson who teases her all time about her weight is trying to steal her best friend Sandra. So, Celeste decides to go on a diet and ditch her cookie obsession thinking that it will fix everything. Do you think she can do it?
ReplyDelete"Until one day..." should be part of the previous sentence. This is a fragment.
